What is Calcium Stearate?

Calcium stearate is White powder, insoluble in water, cold ethanol, soluble in organic solvents such as hot benzene, benzene and turpentine, slightly soluble in hot ethanol.When heated to 400ºC, it will decompose slowly and be flammable. When met with strong acid, it will decompose into stearic acid and corresponding calcium salt, which has hygroscopic property.
 

Application:

1.Widely used as a heat stabilizer in PVC rigid products, with salt-based lead salts and lead soap, it can improve the gelation speed.
2.As a halogen absorber in polypropylene and polyethylene, it can eliminate the negative effects of residual catalysts in the resin on the colour and stability of the resin.
3.Also used as a lubricant for polyolefin fibres and mouldings.
4.Used as a mould release agent, plasticizer, thickening agent for grease, waterproofing agent for textiles, smoothing agent for paint industry, etc. in rubber processing.
5.It can also be used as food additive, feed additive, cosmetics, etc.
