Hypericum perforatum has a history of more than 2,000 years of medicinal use in our country, and it is included in the "Dictionary of Traditional Chinese Medicine" and so on. Hypericum perforatum extract is a product extracted from the tip or above-ground part of Hypericum Perforatum L. during flowering period. Commercial extracts are usually standardized to contain 0.3% of total hypericin.
Crude drug resources
There are about 370 species of Hypericum in the world. Hypericum perforatum is widely distributed in Europe, Asia, Northern Africa, Australia, North and South America. It is commonly found under forest or grassland on hillsides at an altitude of 1000 to 2500 meters. Hypericum perforatum is widely distributed in my country, including Guizhou, Sichuan, and Gansu Longnan.

The literature shows that Hypericum perforatum is significantly better than placebo in the treatment of mild and moderate depression. Compared with standard antidepressant drugs (tricyclic), it has the same curative effect and less side effects.
