Stannous sulfate, molecular formula SnSO4, molecular weight 214.75, is a white or light yellow crystalline powder, soluble in water and dilute sulfuric acid, aqueous solution quickly decomposed. The main use is for tinning or chemical reagents, such as alloy, tinplate, cylinder piston, steel wire and other acid plating, bright tinning of electronic devices. In addition, it is also used for oxidation coloring of aluminum alloy coating and as a mordant in printing and dyeing industry.
